BLACK FALCON with top-class NLS line-up in 2022 season
- Hits: 2148
BLACK FALCON will compete in all rounds of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) in the 2022 season with at least four Porsche brand cars. Three Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars will be entered in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (CUP2 class), a newly created Porsche one-make cup consisting of two classes on the Nordschleife. In the SP10 class for vehicles according to SRO GT4 regulations, the team from Meuspath will bring a brand new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS onto the grid.
IDENTICA and BLACK FALCON set their sights on the CUP2 title in fifth year
The BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA is again spearheading BLACK FALCON's efforts on the Nordschleife this year. After the GT4 championship title with the Mercedes-AMG GT4 in 2019 and two very successful years with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR SP-PRO, running a Porsche 911 GT3 R at NLS rounds 8 and 9 in 2021 represented the highlight of the collaboration to date. In 2022, the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup will join the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring to fight for the title in the top-class CUP2 class. The IDENTICA machine will be driven in all eight NLS races by quick Dutchman Paul Harkema and Nordschleife pro Tobias Müller. Harkema set a number of exclamation marks last season with the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR SP-PRO and even scored the best BLACK FALCON result of the season at the ninth NLS round. Müller already competed for BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA in 2019 and 2020, during which time he matured into a professional racer as part of the junior program. At the NLS 12h race and the Nürburgring 24h race, the duo will be supported by three-time Porsche Carrera Cup ProAm champion Carlos Rivas and Noah Nagelsdiek, who will complete at both races with a double entry on two 992 Cup cars entered by BLACK FALCON.
BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR brings Porsche Cayman GT4 RS to the Nordschleife
In the twelfth year of cooperation between BLACK FALCON and TEXTAR, the team is bringing the most spectacular upgrade of the proven Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport to date. The brand new "RS" model relies on the 4-liter engine from the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup as well as a 7-speed transmission, making it significantly more powerful than its predecessor. The Cayman GT4 RS will compete in all NLS races in the SP10 class for cars that comply with SRO GT4 regulations. In the first three races of the year, Marco Müller, Carsten Palluth and Tobias Wahl take turns at the wheel. Later in the season, Martin Meenen joins as an additional driver.
BLACK FALCON with two more customer cars in the CUP2 class
The strong BLACK FALCON line-up is completed by two more Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars. In one of the two cars Peter Ludwig, Noah Nagelsdiek and Maik Rosenberg will compete for the whole year. With Ludwig, a BLACK FALCON regular driver returns to the Nordschleife after a two-year forced break due to the pandemic. Rosenberg, who raced throughout Europe last year with the BLACK FALCON LMP3 program, is also drawn back to the Green Hell.
The Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, which will be in the colors of partners FUCHS and EAE, will be driven by Mustafa Mehmet Kaya, Gabriele Piana and Mike Stursberg. The trio has been very successful in recent years with a Mercedes-AMG GT4, winning the SP8T championship and the Nürburgring 24h race, among others. In addition, Kaya and Stursberg already gained their first experience with the 992 Cup on the Nordschleife at the ninth NLS round in 2021.
Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport BLACK FALCON:
We have been working hard on our program over the winter and have populated our cars with top-class driver combinations. With three Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars, we are the largest team in the CUP2 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy and are also very well positioned thanks to our experience with the car from the previous Carrera Cup season; we will be fighting for the title in both the PRO and PRO-AM classifications in this class.
In addition, we are expanding our program this year with an exciting new offering: In cooperation with TEXTAR, we are the first team ever to offer our drivers the exclusive opportunity to drive the new Cayman GT4 RS on the Nordschleife.
We are very well prepared and are eagerly awaiting the start of the season on the Nordschleife. We are particularly looking forward to the return of the fans around the Nordschleife as well as to the guest groups of our partners, which we have sorely missed in the past two years.
