Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup - Preview Round 5, Barcelona
This coming weekend (28./29.09.) the big season finale of the Blancpain GT Series is on the agenda at Barcelona. BLACK FALCON travels to the Circuit de Catalunya with great ambitions and two Mercedes-AMG GT3. As usual, Yelmer Buurman (NL), Maro Engel (DE) and Luca Stolz (DE) will start in the blue AMG GT3 #4, while in the sister car entered in the Silver Cup class Gabriele Piana will miss out due to an overlap. His place in the green AMG GT3 #6 will be taken by David Fumanelli (IT), who will share the car with the regular drivers Patrick Assenheimer (DE) and Hubert Haupt (DE).
For BLACK FALCON and Engel/Stolz, this weekend is all about the chance to win the most important title in the team's history: the duo is currently leading the Blancpain GT Series driver standings with a narrow lead of only two points. In the team classification, BLACK FALCON is 12.5 points behind the leaders and therefore has a realistic chance of winning this classification with a victory. In the separate Endurance Cup classification Buurman/Engel/Stolz and BLACK FALCON still have a chance to win the drivers' and team titles as well. The odds for success are strong: Last year Buurman/Engel/Stolz won the race in Barcelona and celebrated the victory in the Endurance Cup Championship.
For Assenheimer and Haupt, the Silver Cup classification of the Endurance Cup is about solidifying second place in the championship. They travel to Catalonia 14 points ahead of third place. However, there can be no evidence of a defensive approach due to the clear championship situation: After three podium places in the first four races the clear goal is to achieve class victory at the end of the season.

General information about the Blancpain GT Series
In the 2019 season, the Blancpain GT Series features ten rounds of racing on Europe's most famous circuits. The championship is divided into two disciplines, each with its own classification: The Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, which consists of a 1000km race, three 3-hour races and the famous 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps, and the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe, which runs two one-hour races over five race weekends. BLACK FALCON takes on the role of defending team and driver champion in the Endurance Cup in 2019 and extends its commitment to the World Challenge Europe sprint discipline to win the overall Blancpain GT Series championship.
