24h Race Nürburgring – Preview
BLACK FALCON competes in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring with a massive line-up of eight cars: The team from Meuspath for the first time enters three factory-supported Mercedes-AMG GT3s in the strongest class SP9. Furthermore, the team deploys a Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the SP10 class for GT4 vehicles and another AMG GT4 in the more powerful SP8T class for the 47th edition of the endurance classic. In the SP7 class, BLACK FALCON sends a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR II into the race to fight for class victory. In addition, two Porsche 991 Carrera production cars in the V6 class compete for the fifth V6 class victory in a row for BLACK FALCON. The biggest motor race in the world takes place this coming weekend (22/23 June) on the 25.378 km long combination of the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. Up to 200,000 fans are expected for the 24-hour marathon, creating a party atmosphere around the circuit. The race is broadcasted live for 25 hours on RTL Nitro and around the clock on the Internet.
The Mercedes-AMG GT3 with starting number 2 competes in this year's 24-hour race with the proven driver quartet Adam Christodoulou (Great Britain), Maro Engel (Germany), Manuel Metzger (Germany) and Dirk Müller (Germany). In the sister car number 3 Maximilian Buhk (Germany), Hubert Haupt (Germany), Thomas Jäger (Germany) and Luca Stolz (Germany) take turns. Patrick Assenheimer (Germany), Nico Bastian (Germany), Yelmer Buurman (Netherlands) and Gabriele Piana (Italy) share the cockpit of the third AMG GT3 #6.
In the SP10 class for SRO GT4 cars, BLACK FALCON submits the Mercedes-AMG GT4 with starting number 70 to the race. The "IDENTICA-AMG" is driven by Marek Böckmann (Germany), the VLN regular drivers Tobias Müller (Germany) and Tristan Viidas (Estonia) as well as Yannick Mettler (Switzerland). After the SP10 class victories in 2017 and 2018, the team is set to score the hat trick this year. A second AMG GT4 takes part in the SP8T class, which allows more engine power than the SP10 class. The "KNUFFI-AMG" is well staffed with Stefan Karg (Germany), Mustafa Mehmet Kaya (Turkey), Reinhold Renger (Germany) and Mike Stursberg (Germany) and should also be able to fight for class victory.
The BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR has three Porsche cars in the race. The Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR II with number 64 competes in the SP7 class. The "TEXTAR-Breitbau" is shared by Peter Ludwig (USA), Maik Rosenberg (Germany), "Takis" (Switzerland) and Dennis Trebing (USA). This year, BLACK FALCON enters two Porsche 991 Carrera production cars in the V6 class. After the one-two victory in the qualifying race in mid-May, the fifth V6 class victory in the 24-hour race in series is now to follow, as this class has been won every year since 2015. Christoph Hoffmann (Germany), Carsten Palluth (Germany), Tobias Wahl (Germany) and Robert Woodside (Great Britain) compete in the 911 with start number 132. The sister car with the starting number 133 will be driven by Alexander Akimenkov (Russia), Ronny Lethmate (Germany), Carlos Rivas (Luxembourg) and Vasilii Selivanov (Russia).
