VLN Endurance Championship - Preview Round 2
At the second round of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring BLACK FALCON races with seven cars. The team from Meuspath at the Nürburgring will be competing with one Mercedes-AMG GT3, three AMG GT4 and two Porsche 991 Carrera. Additionally, for the first time this season, the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MRII will be racing.
In the SPX class, Adam Christodoulou (Great Britain), Thomas Jäger (Germany) and Dominik Baumann (Austria) share the cockpit of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with starting number 52.
Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands), Peter Ludwig (USA) and "Takis" (Switzerland) will share the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MRII in its first race of this season. The almost 500 hp "wide-body" Porsche will once again feature the well-known BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR-Design this year and carries number 57.
One of the three BLACK FALCON AMG GT4 cars is entered in the SP10 class for GT4 vehicles. The car with number 162 runs under the banner of BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA and is driven by Tobias Müller, Tim Scheerbarth and Tristan Viidas. The trio drives the whole season and started the year perfectly with the SP10 class victory in the opening race.
In the SP8T class two more BLACK FALCON Mercedes-AMG GT4 will be at the start: Christoph Hoffmann (Germany), Mustafa Mehmet Kaya (Turkey) and Norbert Schneider (Germany) will take turns in the cockpit of the yellow-black "KNUFFI"-AMG GT4 with number 152. The anthracite-coloured sister car number 155 is shared by double starter Kaya and Ace Robey (USA), who celebrated their first SP8T class victory in the first race three weeks ago. At the second round of the VLN they will be supported by Tristan Viidas.
Two Porsche 991 Carrera cars in the V6 class for production cars with up to 3500 cc engine capacity will compete under the BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR's banner. The 911 number 394 will be driven by Carsten Palluth (Germany) and Carlos Rivas (Luxembourg), just like in race 1. They will be supported by Martin Meenen (Germany) and Tobias Wahl (Germany), both of whom will be racing their first VLN race this year. The V6 class winners of the opening round share the sister car number 395: Alexander Akimenkov, Ronny Lethmate and Vasilii Selivanov once again start with great ambitions for class and classification group victory.
Next Saturday the VLN runs the second race of this season. At 8:30 a.m. the event starts with a one-and-a-half-hour qualifying session, followed by the four-hour race scheduled for 12:00 noon. The entire event can be watched live on the Internet on the official website of the organiser. There you will find a commentary in German and English as well as live timing.
