BLACK FALCON enters the hot phase of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. This weekend (03.-05.08.) will be the third race weekend of the year taking place at the Nürburgring. The event is the prelude to a mammoth programme: the Carrera Cup will run three events within three weeks - two of them on different track layouts of the Nürburgring, followed by a round at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
In car number 4 Sören Spreng starts. The 32-year-old brings the experience from a VLN season and numerous appearances in the Porsche Sports Cup to the Nürburgring. Spreng is currently in third place in the amateur ranking. "The first race weekends took place on tracks I hadn't driven much before. I know the Nürburgring very well, so I hope for two good results - maybe there will be another podium finish".
Tim Zimmermann drives the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with start number 5. 21-year-old is highly motivated to take the lead in the rookie classification at the first of two BLACK FALCON home races. "After a successful weekend on the Red Bull Ring, I'm only a few points behind the championship leader in second place. We are very well prepared for the probably most strenuous weeks of the year and now want to advance."
For Carlos Rivas, the three upcoming race weekends are the linchpin of the season. The unlucky Luxembourgian only saw the chequered flag once in the four races of the season to date and is far behind in the amateur classification. In the six races of the next few weeks, a maximum of 150 points will be awarded, which Rivas urgently needs. "Not all results count for the championship, that suits me very well this year. We have prepared very well and now need the necessary racing luck to finally get the first'big points'."
This year, the TV station Sport1 will broadcast all Saturday races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany live on free TV. The Sunday race at the Nürburgring will also be broadcast live. In addition, there is a comprehensive live streaming service for all qualifyings and races on Porsche's official website as well as on Facebook and YouTube.
