The second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will take place at the Lausitzring framed by the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) this weekend. For the third and fourth race of the championship all three designated BLACK FALCON drivers – Gabriele Piana, Christian Engelhart and Carlos Rivas – are lined up for the first time.
Start number 5 – Christian Engelhart – Black Falcon
While the season opener took place without his participation, Christian Engelhart will join Black Falcon for the first time this weekend. The 30-year-old was not able to attend the first two races due to a clash of dates and was represented by Tom Kieffer in Hockenheim. For the third and fourth round of the championship at the 3,478 kilometer long Lausitzring, Engelhart takes over the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup number 5 that is foiled in silver and blue colors. “I’m really happy to race with Black Falcon in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany this year. For the last years I watched their activities and successes with great interest. Therefore, I’m very proud to be part of this years drivers squad and I aim to help the team with my experience to add some more trophies to the shelf – at best starting this weekend”, Engelhart said.
Start number 4 – Gabriele Piana – RN Vision Team Black Falcon
Gabriele Piana brings the eight position in the championship with him to the Lausitzring. The Italian drives the RN Vision Team Black Falcon Porsche number 4, that will feature a red stripe instead of the former yellow one for better identification from this race on. After position ten and eleven at the first two races Piana seeks to increase his point collection: “Of course we have to learn a lot in our first season, but we also want to improve our performance steadily. We didn’t show our full potential in Hockenheim – something we want to change at the Lausitzring.”
Start number 6 – Carlos Rivas – Black Falcon
Car number 6 will be driven again by Carlos Rivas and is recognizable easily by its yellow stripe. After a podium position in Hockenheim the Luxembourgian once again targets another Top-3 result in the amateur cup: “We showed great potential in the first races although it’s our first season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. We want to show our ability to perform at the Lausitzring again. Also for me, one of the main goals is to learn the new tracks.”
The third and fourth race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will be streamed live on the internet. The German TV-stations n-tv and Sport1 broadcast a half-hour highlight show after the weekend.
