BLACK FALCON’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 have scored a pair of class podiums at the third round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. Held over a grueling 1,000km distance, twice the normal race length for the season, the team’s Silver Cup, and Pro-Am entries both delivered excellent results in a dramatic race that has further improved their respective championship positions.
BLACK FALCON’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be racing deep into the night in the south of France this weekend, as they take part in a specially extended endurance marathon at the stunning Paul Ricard circuit. The third round of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup takes up the classic 1000km distance used in so many legendary sportscar races, almost twice the normal three-hour length typically used in the championship. The event, hosted by the home of this year’s Formula 1 French Grand Prix, will also serve as the perfect warm-up for July’s season highlight: the 24 Hours of Spa.

BLACK FALCON have taken class victory in the Silver Cup at the second round of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, as well as a fine sixth place overall. All three BLACK FALCON AMG scored important points in their respective classes at Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix, and BLACK FALCON retain third place overall in the Teams championship while moving up to take the lead in the Silver Cup.
BLACK FALCON have scored an unprecedented set of results at a particularly grueling Nürburgring 24 Hours, taking two of the overall podium positions as well as the fifth place with their factory-backed Mercedes-AMG GT3. They also scored a class victory in the SP10 class with the #66 Mercedes-AMG GT4 and in V6 with the #138 Porsche 991 Carrera. The team were always in the fight for the overall lead and came so close to taking what would have been their third overall win at the 24 Hours: the #4 AMG finished just 26 seconds behind the eventual winner.
After a hectic April which yielded an overall victory, two class wins and a further four class podiums over three dramatic races, Team BLACK FALCON’s attention is now solely focussed on May’s Nürburgring 24 Hours. This iconic event, widely recognised as the toughest round-the-clock endurance marathon in the world, is the race that every team and driver wants to win. A trophy earned at the infamous ‘Green Hell’ puts you among the pantheon of the greats – this is a race where even finishing is considered an achievement – and it’s one that BLACK FALCON have already triumphed in twice, in 2013 and 2016.
