BLACK FALCON put in a strong team performance at the NLS season opener. The team from Meuspath fielded a car in the GT3 SP9 class for the first time since 2021 and immediately won the SP9 Pro/Am classification with the BLACK FALCON Team EAE Porsche 992 GT3 R. In addition, the BMW M4 GT4 Evo of Team BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON also crossed the finish line as the winner in the “Evo's” first outing on the Nordschleife. In the highly competitive CUP2 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN), 48 LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON (PRO category) and BLACK FALCON Team Zimmermann (PRO/AM category) both finished second with their Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, securing important points at the season opener.
BLACK FALCON Team EAE: First victory in the first race
The start of the season could hardly have gone better for BLACK FALCON Team EAE: Daan Arrow, Ben Bünnagel, Gabriele Piana and Mike Stursberg delivered a flawless performance in the Porsche 992 GT3 R (#48) on its first outing. After intensive setup work on Friday, the 911 was at times one of the fastest cars in the field on the Saturday of the race. After four hours of racing, the team initially crossed the finish line in second place in SP9-Pro/Am, but was declared the class winner after the first-placed car was disqualified - a successful return to GT3 racing for BLACK FALCON.
Team BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON: Strong performance rewarded with victory
At the season opener, Team BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON competed for the first time with the Evo version of the BMW M4 GT4 (#150). As last year, Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Brown, Misha Charoudin and Manuel Metzger started in the SP8T class. The quartet completed a perfect race and dominated the class, which had an excellent competition of eight cars. In the end, it was a perfect race Saturday: pole position, fastest race lap and class victory for the BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON team.
48 LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON: Second place after a scary moment
The PETN CUP2 team champions competed under the Luxembourg flag for the first time at the NLS season opener: 48 LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON started in the CUP2 PRO category with a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup (#948), just like last year. Tobias Müller and Noah Nagelsdiek took turns at the wheel of the LOSCH 911, supported this year by Carlos Rivas. After a strong first half of the race, the 948 was narrowly in the lead after the last regular pit stop. However, an unfortunate collision with another car on the approach to the Nordschleife earned the team a 30-second time penalty. Despite the penalty, the #948 crossed the finish line in second place in the CUP2-PRO class, scoring important points for the championship.
BLACK FALCON Team Zimmermann: Emotional rollercoaster at the team premiere
BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN's first race weekend had plenty of action to offer. The team competed with a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS in the SP7 class and with a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup in the CUP2-Pro/Am class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring.
The race started well for the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS (#70) of David Barst, Axel Sartingen and Nils Schwenk. After a short stint on rain tires on a drying track, the team switched to slicks and sent the Cayman back out onto the track. However, the race came to an abrupt end during an overtaking maneuver shortly before the next regular pit stop. The Cayman touched a still-wet patch of grass and slid into a pile of tires at low speed. In addition to some cosmetic damage, the car's radiator was damaged on contact with the track barrier, forcing the team to retire the car prematurely.
The Porsche 992 GT3 Cup of Alex Hardt, Peter Ludwig and Maik Rosenberg started with PRO driver Hardt on slicks in difficult mixed conditions. Despite a brief moment of shock when the 911 left the track in a particularly wet part of the circuit and spun off just a hair's breadth in front of the crash barrier, the car performed strongly throughout the race. In the end, the BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN Porsche 992 GT3 Cup crossed the finish line in second place in the Pro/Am classification and fifth place in the CUP2 class. After a disqualification of the third-placed driver, the team moved up to fourth place in the overall standings. With an excellent second place in the Pro/Am classification, the trio collected important points for the championship.
