VLN Endurance Championship - Preview Round 4
After the successful 24-hour race at the end of June, BLACK FALCON returns to the Nordschleife on Saturday (13th July) for the fourth round of the VLN Endurance Championship running six cars. The team from Meuspath will be racing a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the top class SP9, three Mercedes-AMG GT4, a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR II and a production Porsche 991 Carrera. The 50th Adenauer ADAC Circuit Trophy runs over the regular VLN race distance of four hours.
The orange-black Mercedes-AMG GT3 with start number 6 starts for the BLACK FALCON Team AutoArena Motorsport. Patrick Assenheimer (DE) and Manuel Metzger (DE) take turns at the wheel of the AMG. Assenheimer and Metzger have a premiere at the fourth VLN race: the two have not yet contested a race together.
As usual, Tobias Müller (DE), Tim Scheerbarth (DE) and Tristan Viidas (EST) will be chasing points in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 #162 in the SP10 class for cars according to SRO GT4 regulations. The trio is still unbeaten in the season so far and has won two out of two races for BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA.
Two more AMG GT4 start in the SP8T class, in which the GT4 cars are not tied to the so-called "balance of performance" and are therefore allowed to deliver more than 500 hp. Mustafa Mehmet Kaya (TUR) and Reinhold Renger (DE) will take turns at the wheel of the "KNUFFI"-AMG GT4 #152. The sister vehicle with start number 155 will be driven by Carlos Rivas (LUX), Ace Robey (USA) and Tobias Wahl (DE).
In the SP7 class, Peter Ludwig (USA), "Takis" (CH) and double starter Manuel Metzger drive the fourth race of the season with the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR II for the BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR. For the second race in this constellation the trio is aiming for another podium position in the highly contested class.
The class winners of the 24h race, Alexander Akimenkov (RU), Ronny Lethmate (DE) and Vasilii Selivanov (RU), will return into their winning car for the fourth round. They share the Porsche 991 Carrera number 133 and start once again with great ambitions for class and classification group victory.
The VLN will be running its fourth race of the season this Saturday. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. with the one-and-a-half-hour qualifying, followed by the four-hour race at 12:00 noon. The entire event can be followed live on the Internet on the official website of the organiser. There you will find a commentary in German and English as well as live timing.
At the fourth VLN race four BLACK FALCON vehicles (#6, #57, #152, #162) are equipped with on-board cameras and broadcast live pictures directly from the cockpit, which can be found on YouTube and in the official VLN live stream.
