- Hits: 2408
BLACK FALCON crossed the finish line as the winners of the SP10 and V6 classes at last Saturday's fourth VLN round (07.07.2018). The Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Stefan Karg, Fidel Leib and Moritz Oberheim celebrated the second victory of this VLN season, while Ronny Lethmate and Miguel Toril achieved their first class victory in the Porsche 981 Cayman in 2018. The Porsche 911 Carrera of Alexander Akimenkov, Christoph Hoffmann, Uwe Lebens and Vasilii Selivanov also finished the race on the podium and finished third in the V6 class.
In excellent weather conditions Stefan Karg, Fidel Leib and Moritz Oberheim achieved their second VLN season victory. The driver trio of the BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA fought their way from third on the grid to the top in the four-hour race. With a lap time of 8:51.440 minutes they also achieved the fastest lap in their class. Their team mates Peter Ludwig, Mustafa Mehmet Kaya and Gabriele Piana competed in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 of the BLACK FALCON Team TMD Friction. After fourth place in qualifying they completed a flawless race and finished fifth.
The two Porsche production cars of BLACK FALCON Team TMD Friction finished the race with a double podium in the V6 class, Ronny Lethmate and Miguel Toril started from third place and quickly moved up to second place. In the last hour of the race they finally took the lead and did not relinquish it until the end. Their team mates Alexander Akimenkov, Christoph Hoffmann, Uwe Lebens and Vasilii Selivanov started from fourth on the grid and crossed the finish line in third place after a flawless performance.
For the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR II of Jürgen Bleul, Manuel Metzger and "Takis" the day started almost perfectly: Starting from position one in the class, the car with the starting number 57 quickly set itself apart from its competitors and drove the fastest race lap of the SP7 class shortly after the start.
"Of course the retirement of the Porsche 991 GT3 CUP MR II is a setback for us, especially as we were far in the lead and the crash was not our fault," says team principal Alex Böhm. "The victory with the production cars of the V6 class and also the renewed success with the AMG GT4 in the SP10 class more than make up for this disappointment, and our drivers and technicians have again delivered a great performance".
At the VLN season highlight, the 6h race on 18 August 2018, BLACK FALCON will be competing with one AMG GT3, three AMG GT4 and four Porsche vehicles - the largest number of vehicles this year.
Like all VLN races, the 6h race can also be followed live on www.vln.de You also have the opportunity to watch the BLACK FALCON Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR #57 and AMG GT4 #163 live from an onboard perspective.
