Successful rollout of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in Ascari
Only one week after the last race of the year, Black Falcon had its first rollout for the 2016 season. In the Spanish Ascari Race Resort the team carried out a two-day test, as a prelude to the "endless summer". In this context, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS built for the Porsche Sports Cup made its debut.
With a total of five vehicles, the team Black Falcon carried out a two-day customer event in bright sunshine and temperatures of up to 25 °C on the 5.4km Circuito Ascari club sports track in southern Spain. Ideal weather conditions provided for two great track days and enabled the drivers to properly test the available, partially new, vehicles. The vehicles used included the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup "BF" from the VLN, one of the production-based Porsche Carrera, and a Porsche 911 GT3 with Cup suspension and slick tyres.
In addition to the race-proven cars, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which is expected to be used in the 2016 season in the Porsche Sports Cup, were tested. This Porsche 911 GT3 RS was equipped by Black Falcon with a Bilstein MDS chassis and saw its race track premiere in Ascari. After only a few rounds, it became clear that the already lightning-fast super sports car was optimized yet further by the new chassis and is now even more agile and precise to steer than the production series car. As the car is equipped with all the necessary safety features for racing ex works, the vehicle can take part in the Porsche Sports Cup in the coming season in the given configuration.
The two days of testing were the prelude to the "endless summer", a programme provided throughout the winter months, which includes the racetracks Ascari Race Resort near Malaga, Jerez de la Frontera and Portimao. That is where Black Falcon provides the opportunity to test the racing cars of the team under summer conditions and to bridge the racing-free Central European winter. The race tracks have been a popular destination for years, as they can generally be used all year round and, due to the fact that their courses are integrated in natural surroundings, require very special driving skills.
